Rohit Roy talks about bagging the Maximum Style Award and working with wife Mansi Joshi in ‘Alibaug’

Television hottie Rohit Roy is on cloud nine because he has won a hat-trick of awards which have recognised both his talent (‘Viraasat’) and his fetish for good clothes.

“Awards like these are a shot-in-the-arm for the TV fraternity. After all, we owe our fashionable persona to our audiences. So I always make an extra effort to dress well and appropriately for an event,” smiles Rohit as he cradles the trophy he has recently won for being the Maximum-Style Male TV Personality (CMAI-Zoom Apex Award-2006).

The actor, who plays a shady underworld character in Sanjay Gupta’s ‘Shoot Out at Lokhandwala’ adds, “Quite often one sees actors munching chewing gum or even paan when they come on stage to present or receive an award. This is in bad taste. Often they are casually dressed for public functions. It’s okay to be irreverent and flippant in dressing once in a while, not always.” Rohit adds, “Dressing to kill is no longer a female prerogative.”
Incidentally, Rohit is also looking forward to working with wife Mansi Joshi in ‘Alibaug’ – a film hinging on relationships. “We have modelled together and we have danced together in ‘Nach Baliye’. But it’s the first time we will be paired together as actors.
Having creative conflicts will be fun,” insists Rohit. Incidentally, Mansi will soon begin work for her production banner ‘Magic Work’ in March 2007.
