Hrithik Roshan’s much-envied jacket, Malaika Arora Khan’s sexy gown, Kareena Kapoor’s hot outfits from Heroine, Salman Khan’s Dabangg clothes — all these and more will be on auction next month. It is being put together by Rohit Roy who will be holding a charity auction to raise funds that will go towards helping children suffering from Cerebral Palsy, Autism and Down syndrome.

The idea, says Rohit, came to him when he had gone to Dubai recently. Though he had gone there to host an awards function, he made a brief visit to a school called Al-Noor which teaches special children. “The 20 odd minutes I spend there were the most painful of my life. I offered my help in any way possible and they asked if I could do a charity auction of personal objects or outfits our actors had worn in a film. I said yes immediately, not knowing what to do,” confesses Rohit. He, however, promptly called up his friends — actors, directors and producers and sounded them out. “Before the day was over I had collected Vidya’s (Balan) famous sarees and blouses, Saif (Ali Khan) and Deepika’s outfits from Race 2, Arjun Rampal’s suit from Inkaar, and more” says Rohit. Others like Anil Kapoor, Tabu, Shilpa Shetty and Sharman Joshi have sent something from their personal wardrobe while more have promised to help. “I am overwhelmed and it again proves that our industry is quick to respond even if the charity is towards kids from a completely different country. I’m sure the kids will bless them all,” he adds.
